A New Mexico based GIS and UAS specialist working in environmental field documentation, spatial analysis, aerial imagery, cartography, and 3D terrain visualization. His interests include water resources, ecological health, vegetation, landscape change, and community-scale environmental planning.
His work includes UAS data capture, orthomosaics, elevation models, 3D surfaces, geoprocessing, spatial analysis, GIS data management, and map design.
Matthew approaches GIS as both an analytical and visual discipline. He uses data and statistics to identify patterns and support informed decisions, while designing maps that create a direct, memorable connection to place.
A key part of his practice is creating custom 3D relief maps in Blender from GIS-derived elevation data. These maps are designed to be accurate, tactile, and visually engaging, inviting people from all backgrounds into a landscape before leading them toward the data, patterns, and environmental questions it reveals.
Location Sound Bio
A long time location sound recordist and production sound mixer with more than 15 years of experience operating out of Chicago, New York City and New Mexico in film, television, documentary, journalism, commercial, and branded production.
He has recorded sound on location across six continents, from six total months living and working out of remote tent camps throughout Greenland’s glacial landscape to the interior of ancient pyramids in Egypt. His work is grounded in strong preparation, technical precision, adaptability, and calm problem-solving in demanding or unpredictable environments.
Matthew provides production sound services for documentary, unscripted, narrative, commercial, and journalistic projects. He specializes in clean production dialogue, natural sound, field recording.
His credits include work associated with HBO, PBS, National Geographic, VICE, and BBC.
